Khalil-ul-Allah (Allah's Friend)

"And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if God so wills one practicing Patience and Constancy!" So when they had both submitted their wills (to God), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), We called out to him "O Abraham! "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. For this was obviously a trial. And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. Peace be on Ibrahim. Thus do We reward the doers of good. Surely he was one of Our believing servants. And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls."

[37. Surah As-Saffat : Ayahs 99-113]

"And who has a better religion than he who submits himself entirely to Allah? And he is the doer of good (to others) and follows the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and Allah took Ibrahim as a friend."

 [4. Surah Nisaa : Ayahs 125]

Desiring World's Life & Hereafter

"Whoever desires this world's life and its finery, We will pay them in full their deeds therein, and they shall not be made to. suffer loss in respect of them."   "These are they for whom there is nothing but fire in the hereafter, and what they wrought in it shall go for nothing, and vain is what they do."      [11. Surah Hud : Ayah 15-16]

"There are some people who say, Our Lord! give us in the world, and they shall have no resting place."  "And there are some among them who say: Our Lord! grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us from the chastisement of the fire." "They shall have (their) portion of what they have earned, and Allah is swift in reckoning."    [2. Surah Al-Baqarah : Ayah 200-202]

"Whoever desires this present life, We hasten to him therein what We please for whomsoever We desire, then We assign to him the hell; he shall enter it despised, driven away."   "And whoever desires the hereafter and strives for it as he ought to strive and he is a believer; (as for) these, their striving shall surely be accepted." [17. Surah Bani Israel : Ayah 18-19]

"Whoever desires the gain of the hereafter, We will give him more of that again; and whoever desires the gain of this world, We give him of it, and in the hereafter he has no portion.    "[42. Surah Ash-Shurah : Ayah 20]
"Say: Shall We inform you of the greatest losers in (their) deeds?"  "(These are) they whose labor is lost in this world's life and they think that they are well versed in skill of the work of hands."  "These are they who disbelieve in the communications of their Lord and His meeting, so their deeds become null, and therefore We will not set up a balance for them on the day of resurrection."
[18. Surah Kahf : Ayah 103-105]
